Job Description :
The Telecom Engineer should possess 10 to 15 years of experiencing working on full turn key installations and maintenance of voice systems, and voice and data cabling systems. We are in need of someone with a skill set in configuring the Toshiba, Nortel and Alcatel OmniPCX product line. This person would be a "full service" type resource, with regards to specifying, vetting, coordinating, managing and maintaining the site systems. This resource can support full turn key, can order and specify circuitry, and can analyze a CSR.
Duties:
1. Monitor and maintain the system integrity for the Voice Services which include an Alcatel Enterprise OmniPCX, 4635 Voicemail system, 4760 management server, and OTUC applications server, with approximately 2000 ports of interface hardware which include 12 LEC and LD carrier PRI’s, 4 station side PRI’s integrated with IVR applications and extended to two additional PBX applications (iden and Alcatel) This includes coordinating all system upgrades and maintenance activities, and developing specialized system configurations for various business needs.
2. Manage and monitor the integrity of the carrier circuitry integrated with the PBX as required.
3. Support two 24X7X365 call centers, with ACD, wall board and Dictaphone Freedom recording applications, support one 24X7X365 NOC with Dictaphone Freedom recording application
4. Define and develop ACD applications for these helpdesks in support of enhancing customer service. Includes investigating and developing skills based routing, time of day routing, follow the sun configurations, CTI integrations, wall board applications, and enhanced agent report functions.
Additional Responsibilities:
1. Develop reconfiguration, upgrade approaches and provide maintenance support and coordination of vendors for approximately 40 regional facility PBX and voicemail systems. These systems are a variety of Toshiba DK280, DK424 and Toshiba CIX with Strata, IVP and IES voicemail systems, also, Nortel Option 11, MICS, CICS, and 0X32 with Call Pilot 100 and 150 voicemail systems are installed at these locations. Also, for sites geographically close to Annapolis, personally complete installation, maintenance and configuration tasks as required for these systems. These sites range in size from 350 to 5 seats.
2. Support budgetary development with for the construction of new locations.
4. Order circuitry, and maintain carrier services on said circuitry in a variety of configurations from simple POTS, CO and analog DID, to voice grade PRI with DID/station ranges.
5. Specify and qualify voice and data cable infrastructures to include multi mode fiber, copper and coax cable plant infrastructures as required.
Backup Functions:
1. Provide back up to the daily moves adds and changes of the PBX as needed.
2. Provide back up for the daily tasks associated with the corporate wireless services as needed.
