Job Description :
PRIMARY FUNCTION
Provide web and related programming support as part of the full-lifecycle IT services required for envisioning, transitioning, enhancing and maintaining a mission critical website associated with the US Navy. This includes activities for both operations and maintenance (O&M) for the existing website and enhancement/development for the next-generation website.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
o Strong problem solving skills; includes having good situational awareness with stakeholders
o Participate in the full software development life cycle
o Apply a structured design methodology (data modeling, data flow and process flow diagrams)
o Apply programming skills in ColdFusion MX, Fusebox, Coldspring, HTML, and XML
o Troubleshoot and develop hand-coded HTML and CSS
o Resolve/repair problems to current web site; includes ability to address issues not previously encountered
o Implement enhancements to current web site
o Support design, coding, test and implementation of next generation web site
o Programming workmanship must result in developed code that is well structured, well documented, maintainable, and error-free
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
o Experience with the full software development life cycle
o Understanding and use of a structured design methodology (data modeling, data flow and process flow diagrams)
o Excellent communication skills
o Strong analytical skills
o Must have knowledge of SDLC process and ability to produce quality SDLC products.
o At least 5 years of ColdFusion 7/8 development experience (preferably on Solaris).
o Proven knowledge of advanced ColdFusion concepts (OO, Ajax, XML)
o Proven experience developing CFCs, UDFs, and Custom Tags
o Proficient in JavaScript
o Solid understanding of Fusebox and/or Coldspring
o Demonstratable experience in script writing/stored procedures that interface with Oracle
o Version Control (preferably Subversion)
